I took the seats out of the vette today I was bored and it was only 4 bolts each I was happy to see The carpet and Insulation was new
What i wasnt happy about was ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that was metal is a big rusted...thing... Thank god the car is fiberglass. The seatbelts wouldent retract and the seat wouldent move forward on both sides Now i know why :( You can see on the underside of the seats where the springs used to be There was a pile of rust under there..it was bad So now instead of buying carpet with the interior Ill have to get seats instead.
I know the windows leak due to lack of weatherstriping...It must have sat with water in it for quite some time ....I think thats the next project....weatherstriping!!!
Its always something....ahhh the joy of hotrods.....is a 76 vette even considered a hotrod?
I just did my Moms doors on her 80 Vette, and had to redo her T-tops (after just 4 years). She never took them off since they were installed, but when we had a nice day a couple of weeks ago, she decided to remove them, and then they leaked bad. Just a heads up, from my experience the T-Top gaskets need a lot of attention.
Ive heard that....Luckily thats not my problem..Like i said my weatherstriping around is all but there...Ive got 1/2 in gaps all around the window....gotta fix that problem quick...but ive got a cover temporarally <SP>
