S-10 Braking Problems
After multiple power break burnouts at the 2012 Woodward Dream Cruise. My Son's S-10 Xtreme with a 350 V-8 we installed has a very soft break pedal. We bled the rear passenger side brake to see if pedal improved. Flow was weak. Lines leading from master cylinder are very close to the headers. After crusing all day and the burnouts did we cook the brake fluid ???

In your case I would recommend you drain/replace all the fluid in the event it was damaged by the overheating. You need to use a reflective barrier and/or a between the heat and the brake line. Consider installing a line lock to help doing water burnouts if dragging the brakes is causing overheating of the calipers/wheel cylinders. And if the brakes have gotten that hot, I'd go in and do a close inspection of the bearings and seals. Replace as necessary and in any event replace the grease. |
