S-10 fenderwell headers

I have an S-10 that i'm putting a 383 in and i need some better flowing headers than the hedman shorty headers. at least i think i need something better, it's going to have something similar to a comp cams 284 roller cam. my question is, since i've never really built a hot rod (other than the s-10 that has a stock 350 in it now), how do fenderwell headers work? i've seen some advertised as bolt on that "1 tube is over and 1 tube is under the frame" and then there's plain fenderwell headers. where do they exit? i want to make the truck somethin to show at super chevy or take on pro street deals or somethin like that, so i want to have an exhaust system on it. the less visible the pipes the better also, i thought about a stingray kind of exhaust under the doors, but i don't think that'd look right on an s-10. i really just need help from somebody who's had fenderwell headers on this kinda truck or maybe a malibu or somethin like that. really, anything would help.
