S-10 oil lines

Ive got a 93 s-10 Blazer with the 4.3 v-6 motor. this thing is also 4 wheel drive. The oil lines from the oil filter(located behind the left front head light) started to leak, so I thought I'd change them. You gotta be kiddin' me . What a pain. The two lines have a flange at each end. The problem is that there is a bar running from the bottom of the transmission to the motor mount , and this bar prevents you from removing the oil lines. Disconnenting this bar at one end does no good, and you can't get to the other end. It almost looks like you have to break the motor mounts loose and jack the motor way up to get at this bar(bolted to one of the bolt holes on the block for the motor mounts) , then remove and replace the oil lines. Has anybody else had to do this? Is there an easier way to replace these lines. I could really use some help here!!!!
