If this transmission came from a 2.8 or 4 cylinder S10 then it won't work behind a V8 without some modifications. The input shaft and bearing retainer are too long. These transmissions are weak.

Some of the later GM T5 transmissions had the same case as the Mustang, so you might have one with the Ford bolt pattern.

If it's a T4 then you can probably make a T5 out of it. Do you know if it's a Borg Warner transmission?

I have converted many of the T4 transmissions to T5 by adding the 5th gear. The transmission that is in my truck right now is a 4 speed that I converted to 5 speed. 5th gear is inside the tail houisng, and as long as the counter gear has the snout for the 5th gear then you can add it. You will need parts from a scrap T5 to make the conversion. You will need the 2 gears and the shift linkage that is in the side of the case. You will also need the shifter gate that mounts below the shifter. This will only work in a T4 that has teh snout on the counter gear and a bulge in the side of the tail houisng.

You didn't say what engine you are trying to mate this to. If you are putting it on a Chevy V8 then use the 4.3 bellhousing that the transmission was on. If you need mechanical clutch linkage then you will probably have to redrill a stock bellhousing or get a Mc Leod bellhousing that is made to adapt a Ford transmission to a Chevy engine. Or you coudl transfer all of the internal parts into another case that is drilled for the Chevy bolt pattern.

What bellhousing are you going to use?

You know that this transmission will break if you abuse it with the 350, so you need to be easy on it. They are pretty weak transmissions.
