S10 5speed to a v8 chevy bellhousing ?

I'm looking for cad files, or blueprint specs for the engine/bellhousing bolt pattern.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to adapt an S10 5speed for my chevyll. Don't know if I should build the adapter at the transmission or if I should space the bellhousing back from the engine to accomodate the longer input shaft on this tranny. Thoughts??

I believe you can turn the input shaft down................just another option.

I do not believe a S-10 transmission will stand up to a V8 Chevy ... even a mild one.

Just my opinion

a S10 5spd is a T5 but with weaker internals than a V8 T5.. A World Class T5 from a Mustang would be a better option, and you could fit it to the Chevy V8 with the correct input shaft and a bell housing adaptor for the Chevy II bellhousing.

Believe it..Don't even bother with an S-10 5 speed..Get one from Tremec or one from a Gm that came with a five speed and the 350..There are some other trans out there as well that have a chance of holding up to a decent 350..Richmond Gear builds a good five speed that has the proper bolt pattern and input shaft..that would be a lot cheaper and better at the end of the day than cobbling something together..

S10 Trannie Questions

Guys, thanks for the responses. It sounds like good advice which is always welcomed. I kind of suspected that it was a weakling, but don't have first-hand experience with one so it looks like you all have saved me a lot of trouble (and probably from being stranded somewhere). All along, I thought it is probably too weak, but I'll take it easy and not do any hole-shots - we all know how long that thought would last

Thanks again
Fred

Truck tranny

I wondered about that. Is this similar in size, do you know of any particular difficulties with using this in a Chevyll?
