S10 manual steering box shorter than power???

Does anybody know how much shorter the manual box off an s10 is compared to the power box?? We're doing a frame swap on my kids car and the power box will stick out the front *too* much. Unless I want to mount the bumper directly to the box I need a shorter one. This budget can't afford a rack & pinion conversion. Thanks
