the correct 4.3 S-10 tranny will have a higher stall speed converter, smaller boost valves in the pump and sometimes a smaller 2nd gear servo than a V8 700R4. These parts can be swapped out if you wish.
But it will bolt up just fine.
I did not notice a year of the S-10. If it is newer than 93 it will be an electronic shifted/controlled tranny.
Some people are like Slinkies... Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
