Waukesha, well your not to far from me then, I go to a swap meet up their... BTW if you are still looking for the trans, good luck, they are getting very hard to find. Their is one guy tho I see at the Jefferson swap that has one but he wants a lot for it, but it already has the conversion done....

I've been watching this one very closely, as I am looking for a manual OD trans for the Malibu. I thought I was only looking for a New Process 440, now I will have to expand my search.

And if there are pics that you put on another site, put the URL in here and I will link to it in the Transmission information sticky thread.

Unless you want a whole writeup done in here, we might be able to accomodate that.

No. It's just a Saginaw OD unit adapted from a Sag 3-speed to a Sag 4-speed.

I have a saginaw 4 speed that i just aquired. No rings on the input. The mainshaft bearing is shot so a rebuild is in order. Tell me this, I breifly read the article and if I understand it right your supposed to take a 3 speed tailhousing and put it to a 4 speed? I have 2- 3 speeds on the floor but I have no clue what the ratios are and if they are any good. What numbers am I looking for? What other numbers on the Saginaw would help me to identify the year and ratios or is the rings on the input the answer. No rings-2.84 first right?
