saginaw 4x4 pitman shaft diameter?

ok on the common old chevy 70s 80s years etc 4x4 steering boxes was it the diameter of the pitman shaft that differed between 2wd and 4x4 or was it only location of the wider splines on the shaft?

i forgot!

if its the diameter that differs then does anyone know the diameter or either the 2wd ones or the 4x4 ones
