Saginaw Problem

I've Got A 4 Speed Sginaw And I Think It Is Stuck In Reverse. I Am Unable To Move The Reverse Linkage. I Was Wondering If I Will Be Able To Take The Side Cover Off Of The Transmiision And Sucessfully Get Everything Back Together With It In The Car. Wasn't Sure If It Needs To Be On Its Side In Order To Get The Shift Forks And Such Back Into Place. I'm Thinking I'll Probably Have To Remove The Tranny. Is There Any Special Trick To Getting It Back In Easily. I Want To Leave The Bellhousing On The Engine And It Seems Like I Never Have Any Luck Getting The Tranny In That Way. I Always Have To Bolt The Bellhousing To The Tranny And Then To The Engine.
I Just Want To Make This Tranny Work For Now Until A Real One Comes Along.

well, i've cleaned the teeth off of more muncies than saginaws so as far as a "real" transmission, well, lenco makes one

anyway, see if you can move the 1-2 and 3-4 levers in to a neutral position and then try the reverse.
