San Francisco parking space! How much!!

San Francisco parking spot sells for $82,000

Last Updated: Thursday, June 13, 2013

SAN FRANCISCO -- (AP) It seems parking spots aren't immune from the recent surge in San Francisco real estate prices.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported on Thursday (A parking spot in South Beach — that will be $82,000 | C.W. Nevius Blog | an SFGate.com blog ) that a spot in the city's trendy South Beach neighborhood sold last week for $82,000.
The 8- by 12-foot parking space is in an enclosed garage in a condominium building.
While it may seem like a lot of money, real estate agents say parking could be a good investment. It can add as much as $100,000 to the purchase price of a property, or be rented out at rates of $400 to $450 a month the going rate in South Beach.

Hey if you guys are interested I've got a parking space in Grass Valley (about a hundred miles from San Francisco, just a quick commute) for only $41,000! Thats half price! What a deal! And your space and car would be guarded by 9 St. Bernards! Talk about security! Better get your money in quickly! At that price it will go quickly! What a deal!!

It's all relative I guess. If I would have hit that 550 million dollar lotto I would buy that space just for the three days I year I am in SF.

But really, it's all relative, it makes more sense then the guy in my town who parks his Ford GT worth about $350K on the street! And it's not the best neighborhood, probably the worse in town. I am not making this up! It's parked at the curb in front of an apartment building.

But wait! Thursday special! Only $20,500! And one of the St. Bernards has a hair lip. Instead of going Bark! Bark! he goes Mark! Mark! Terrifying to a would be car thief! Act now and we'll include a Custom T Shirt that says " Yes! I am as Dumb as I Look!" Be the first on your block! Operators are waiting.

It's the postage to get the extra parking spot to me that would be the deal-breaker.....

A parking spot that is only 8 X 12? 8 feet wide is pretty standard (for a Safeway parking lot) but only 12 feet long? Is it for a Smart car only? Don't think I own anything (maybe my Model A) that is under 12 feet long. A standard spot in a lot hereabouts is 14 to 16 long

If I emptied my 35X53 shop, I could rent 12 9X13 stalls. At $400 month each, that would be $4800 total per month. I could be RICH !!!
