Sand Blaster......

.....While I was out Xmas shopping and NOT buying anything for the wife, I found a rather neat item. It is a small sandblaster that looks like a spray gun. You fill the cup with sand, hook it to your air supply and blast away. Neat part is, it has a rubber piece at the tip, that you hold up against the metal that you are blasting. The abraisive is then sucked back into a little bag. Most of the sand can then be reused. Really works well. Really good for those rust blotches that come fron paint chips.

I bought it at a store here in Canada (Princess Auto). I imagine that they sell similar at Eastwood or Harbor Freight.
Anybody had any experience with these.

They just had a huge sale on Decemeber 2nd on most of their larger sand blasting equipment! They have some really nice stuff for 50% off I think. I pointed them out to my Dad so hopefully christmas will be good to me, because hes known I've wanted a nice one for a while.

Actually, its "Powerfist"

This sandblaster didn't have that on it. It really didn't have any name on it. Go here to see a picture of it....

Princess Auto seems to have some good stuff and some real crap. You have to judge for yourself.

I bought a spray gun there last year and it isn't worth a *******. Guess you get what you pay for. I use it for primer.

hello poncho i have one of those little spot blasters i bought it at a place here in town called tip tools and i love it . very handy rather than dragging out my pressure pot to just do a few little blisters or whatever the case may be .i use an abraisive called black beauty i beleive it is made of coal and it comes in different grits it cuts fast and lasts longer than silica sand. fisher57
