Sanding single stage?

On page 3, a member painted single stage on his c10. It was a red omni enamel according to all that I read. It came out looking really good for a first paint job and he had pictures of after painting the fenders and hood he buffed/waxed it. It looked pretty nice and glossy for a single stage and he didnt use clear. Members were talking about sanding it with 1500grit im assuming wet sanding then waxing and buffing it... just a question and I could be wrong but ive been told that you CANT AND SHOULD NOT wet sand single stage paint... especially acryllic enamel... which is what he painted...

can someone give me some information on painting single stage paints? I plan to use the hardener when I do mine for more glass and even plan to risk it and use the acryllic clear coat... but whats this about wet sanding an plastic based paint?

Thanks guys..
