I could hardly get past the part where you wrote that you are using Tiger Hair for small dents. That's some serious punishment you are giving yourself, 38 special! When I have to use Tiger Hair, I sand it with... a grinder! Seriously, you might as well trowel on some concrete! Tiger Hair has its place, for me it's used mostly in fiberglass repair. If you have worked those dents out as well as you can, there is no reason not to use a high quality plastic filler like one of Evercoat's Rage series that will last for many, many years and save you lots and lots of elbow grease!
