Sandy storm 71 Cutlas

There is a green 71 cutlas for sale on Ebay that is a Sandy storm total. It was sold at auction by Copart. EBay seller Prospector1010 is trying too pawn it off on some unsuspecting buyer.

if it's listed as a sandy storm total.. the buyer is being told..
not the sellers problem if a buyer is stupid.

I see no where that it is mentioned. This is the wrong place for this discussion of course, it should be in the lounge or off topic or something. But I don't see a single thing in the description or condition of the car that states anything about being a "total". IF it really is one of course is another question. I do like how the car is all original but that trunk has new zoletone sprayed in it.

It is listed on Ebay without disclosure. EBay seller stated when ask that he bought it from another party and did not know. He is a liar and people in the hot rod market should be warned. I joined this forum just to get info out. I collect MGAs. He sold a Sandy storm total for triple what he paid COPART a week after he bought it. Once money crosses it would be hard to get back. This guy has a bad rep among the LBC people. If you want to repost in a more appropriate area do so. I just hate to see crooks and cons taking advantage.

I find this funny..
I had a 1975 cutlass that was a swimmer.. drove it for 9 years.. no issues with rust.. other than the normal a body places...
my 74 cutlass rotted far worse and never say salt of any type..

with a bubble'n trunk lid.. it's most likely not a resto..
if it's as solid as he says.. and anyone that buys sight unseen. is a dope(my opinion).. you buy it pull the carpet and rinse the living crap out of the floor and frame, lower fenders and 1/4's and your fine...
it's clearly a driver... not a show car that he'll make a mint on..
it's a cutlass with no listing of engine.. so it's safe to say it's a 350/th350/10 bolt.. base car..
would you feel better if another one got crushed..
you sound bitter because someone bought low and "might" make some money...
every car sold at auctions to dealers.. every day.. have no clue on how the car was treated before hand.. not does any dealer tell the buyers they got it at a repo auction.. for half of what they(the buyer) is forking over.. buy it's a sin because it's a 1971... come on..
if it was a H/O 455/4spd car that would sell north of 25k.. ya.. maybe.. I could see your point..
next you'll tell me the bubble'n trunk lip. is from the swim...
if it was a total.. it's got a salvage title.. and/or had one.. not HARD to find that fact out before you buy...
no matter.. most older cars are salvage cars.. rebuilt.. with more parts that a wreck would use..

nothing wrong with a old car swimmer.. it'll be fine... at what it'll seel for..
and it'll sell for less than 7k.. bet the 5999.00 is what it goes for..
new cars with all the electronics.. they swim.. it's a nightmare.. but a 71 a body.... I'd buy it.. and after it's first detailing.. I'd have no fear of it rotting away from it's "swim"

You make some very good point.

It sounds like you are the person who had to pay triple for that mga. And your pissed. Seems like he is a fair seller & takes returns if not happy. The cutlass looks good for that price . Remember with any used car collector or everyday it is Buyer Beware. "Caveat Emptor". Thanks for the heads up tho.

I doubt seriously that it will go for that price but make up your mind if you wanna bid and then bid your top dollar right before closing. That is unless the bidding has already run it up and outa your price range. Good Luck

the guy thinks it was flooded in the sandy storm so he is telling us the seller is not disclosing this info.
