satas are set up for high volume hose and high pressure, you should use a direct fitting to the gun, and then the knob directly above your hand on the back twist that for your air pressure, i just got a sata jet 3000 ditgial and it was all new to me as well, just remember that they use higher pressures compared to other guns

the red circle is your air adjustment, just stick a fitting on the bottom (blue) not a pressure regulator just a air fitting, then use the red knob to adjust your air pressure since as you adjust you will be able to see the pressure your set at on the ditgial display, and it shows up on the red aarow,

then on the side you have your spray adjustment, so you can use a nice fan or a rifle lol, then your fluid adjustment is way at the top

holly crap, thats alot of money for a first gun, i would only spray color/clear with this gun, get a less expensive gun for primer, personally im a huge fan of iwata spray guns, im curently looking at buying one, the sata was given to me to pratice for a compatition that im in coming up for painting, and yes it was a little working trying to figure everything out hope you like it
