sb to bb motor mounts

I was wondering what the difference would be from sb motor mounts to big block motor mounts and an 80's chevy 1/2-ton, when I got the truck it didn't have an engine but somone before me put a big block in it and now it has bg block lower mounts. I just happen to have a set of big block uppers and want to know what people think about usng them instead of finding a new set of upper and lower sb mounts?
the only thing I can see for a differnce is the amount of space the bb ones take, because i mocked it up on my sb and the mount just touches my header tube

thanks, your info would be a great help to me. and so I can hurry up and get my truck running!

They mount in the same location and you can use them for either small block or big block applications. However, some BBC mounts are designed to lower the engine a bit. The SBC will still fit but like you said the headers may not clear.

The interference you are experiencing will probably happen with the SBC mounts as well.
