SBC 305 Heads on a 350 ????

I have a set of 305 heads casting # 376450 1975-81 305 60cc chamber. The set of 350 heads casting # 10110810 1991-up 350 Gen. 1, 65cc chambers and would like to know which are better performance wise on the 350 block. The 305 heads are from and 1980 camaro (i think) and the 350 heads are of an Earlie 90's truck. a also installed a higher performance camshaft.

"also installed a higher performance camshaft."

brawler, did you match the intake closing point of the camshaft to the static compression ratio of the motor? If not, the motor may be slower than it was with the stock cam.

Well i've got 305 (1 13\16 intake 1 1\2 exhaust) heads on a 350, that gives great 10:13 compression. it has great low end torque, with an exceptional high end torque. this 79 chevy pickup has a 150 mph at its peak. it is .60" bore with a with a $1500 budget. With Performance comp cam, EGR performer rpm manifold edlebro, 750 cfm performer rpm carb edlebro, domed sealed power pistons, roller tip rockers, and 3.11 posi, not including the turbo 400 tranny. Its fast I had a torque converter on there at one time, and I poped her front end high but it was to much for the street, it's a daily driver , 3.9 sec 0-60 havent 1\4 mile or 1\8 strip race. But i think the 305 heads is a awesome combination they can take the punishment, beleive me.
Also curious to what anyone thinks of the combination.

It really depends on which 305 heads you are talking about. If they are HO heads, they're ok. If not, what you gain down bottom will be lost up top. For the street, you will probably like the 305 heads better regardless because of more compression so it will have more bottom end. Id they are stock flat top pistons, I think you can still get away with pump gas. I would run 93 though.

Check out http://www.mortec.com/ on chev casting #'s

The 350 heads will flow more, the 305 will have higher comp.

Another note. The 90 350 heads are fuel injection heads and the two center bolts are drilled at a different angle. You can still use a carb intake, but must oval out the holes to make the bolts line up. Most times you will need to use a small head bolt like a header bolt for the two center bolts on each side.
