SBC 350 Build (What Intake?Carb?Thoughts?)

Hello, my name's Paul. I was wondering what you all think would be the best Intake Manifold to use on my set up.

SBC 350 bored 30 over (355) 4 bolt main
Stock Crank (30 under)
Stock 5.7 Rods(5.565") ARP bolts
PowerHouse .175 Domed Pistons
Lunati Bare Bones Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam 10000LK (Duration @ .050" 204/214, Gross Lift .420"/.443", Lobe Sep. 112/107, RPM Range 1000-5000)
Set of 487x Heads, 1.94/1.50 (Factory ported, 75cc's)
Elgin Roller Tip Rocker Arms (1.6 Ratio)

So what are your thoughts? I want a lot of bottom end. Is my cam okay for now? Setup wrong? Give me your thoughts/ideas. It's going in my 64 Chevy Shortwide

The cam is the same one I would recommend for this combo, however, you can use the summit cam, it`s the same identical specs only costs considerably less, the cams are the same specs as the Edelbrock performer plus camshaft. I would recommend either the Edelbrock performer or the weiand action plus intake, both will match the powerband of the camshaft. You didn`t mention which carb your using, I would use a Quadrajet, the small primary`s make for excellant low end torque development due to the high velocity. The only thing that throws me off on your post is you said
5.703 stock rods with (5.565) to the side, so which are you using? 5.7 or 5.5? If your using 5.565 rods the piston will fall short of the top of the bore by about .138 which kills compression, quench and power. The engine will be a completely turd.

I'm figuring your static compression ratio at 9.50:1, assuming the crown is down in the bore 0.025" and an 8cc gasket. You're just on the edge of needing more cam or less SCR. This motor will make some pretty good cylinder pressure, so a tight squish (0.035" to 0.045") will be in order to prevent detonation on pump gas if you optimize the ignition timing curve. If you had used flat-top pistons, the SCR would have been 9.26:1, the cam would have had a little cushion and the flame propogation across the chamber would have been better in my opinion.

Also, I'm thoroughly sold on the RPM or Stealth intake for any street application and most street/strip applications. Most fellows are maybe thrown off by the "RPM" name and think the manifold won't work down low. The standard Performer is rated to make power from idle (about 700 rpm's) to 5500 rpm's. The RPM is rated to make power from 1500 to 6500. The questions that I would be asking are.... "What is it about the range from 700 to 1500 that you will give up that makes it unacceptable?" "What will you be doing with the motor that you just have to have a little additional power from 700 to 1500 rpm's?"

All of us have our favorite parts and parts combinations, so in my opinion, there is no one correct answer to any of the questions asked here on this board.

Agree with Doublevision about the Quadrajet. Cliff Ruggles can set one up for you that will work nearly as good as EFI.

I have no clue what made me put 5.565 on the length of rods. That's incorrect . I actually meant the 5.7 lengths..

Should I go with the 487x or 350 TBI heads? Both have the same valves. I know about needing an intake to fit it.
