sbc 350 tick sound

ha guys i have a quick question I have a 350 in my nova it started as a 350 goodwrench, i upgraded the cam with the comp 268h and installed new rhs 67 cc heads, new comp push rods and rockers and guide plates. i adjusted the valve lash correct and runs great and sounds great but when i am driving at normal highway speeds it almost sound like there is a lite consistent ticking sound from the engine nothing sounds wrong or bad and it runs realy good and tons of performance. i am just wondering if i am over analizing this . the rockers are non roller and cam is flat tappet is a there any normal valve train noice or should i look in to this. I have adjusted the rocker 3 times thinking it was that and it is not. i adjusted the last runing with covers off i got one at a time at 0 lash ang then turned 3/4 turn. there is no noice when in park with my head under the hood and reving it up it is when i am driving and the engine has a lit load on it . I just need some advice on where to look for problems or if it is a normal sound thanks

On a hydraulic lifter, a ticking sound is not normal if in fact it is coming from a lifter(s). Did you check for valve spring coil bind when you replaced the cam? Pull the valve covers back off and look to see if a rocker arm may be hitting one or maybe hitting the baffle inside the cover. Just a thought.

Have you checked the obvious, an exhaust leak at the header flange?
