could be a bad exhaust lobe on the camshaft

yea, that's the same 7546 as mine. no provision for the divider and minus the X-Celerator name.. I figured it probably wasn't the best when I bought it. but I really just need somthing to bolt the carb to so I can test fire the engine.. if it runs good enough to use for a while on the street, that's even better but not necessary..

as far as a flat exhaust lobe. it's possible, but the valves were opening and closing when it was run with no valve covers. could be going flat.. it's going to get a new cam anyway, most likely. somthing that is still good for 8.5:1 but with a little chop to the idle. most likely somthing that runs from 1,500 RPM instead of idle

with an inductive timing light, but not at the plug. swapped the plugs after the comp test tho, and it was still dead.. but all diagnostics were done 3 years ago.. we pulled the engine, oiled the cylinders and set it in the corner
