sbc 350 wiring ?

can i wire my car like this i want to start it for the frist time it a 350 sbc i want to do it with out the resistor and the voltage regulator 1 pics has it in it 2 pic dont just want to know if i can do it like 2 pic

It depends on if you just want to start the engine, or if you want the charging system to also work.

It also depends on what type alternator you have, and knowing what car it is in would help determine a few things about what you have.

After looking at the diagram, I hesitate to say it'll work as-is. I much prefer to go by the existing wiring loom and a diagram of same to use for wiring the engine ignition and starting systems.

If you have an HEI, the distributor needs to get full battery voltage- no resistor wire or ballast.

This is the best choice, why rush it and chance destroying something.

i did wire it today like the last one and it did start right up an run but i dont if its charging

Check the battery voltage across the battery terminals w/the engine running. If the alternator is charging, the voltage will be 14 or more VDC.

i can get it to start up by the key but it wont turn off by it it just runs

There needs to be the diode in the wire shown below. The correct diode is Radio Shack #276-1661.
