sbc 350 wont start

the motor was running fine and i put some heddman hedders on it, it was back firing real bad. well i posted a thread about it last night. anyways i checked the firing order to see if icrossed a wire. it was the 5 and 7 according to firing order but then i couldnt get it to start so i went and got some new wires because the ones i had were old. well after new wires and plugs acdelco of course....but i cant get it to start im wondering what ive done wrong. i started with 1 @ about 6:30then 8 ,@ 7:30 is that right?

the firing order is 18436572.

edit- did you accidentally disconnect the hot 12volt wire to the distributor ?

i finally got it i had the #1 plug in the wrong plug ont the cap
