I recently picked up a pair of sbc 400 heads (casting # 3932442) I have read several places that in order to put 350 heads on a 400 you need to drill steam holes in the heads. But I am tring to do the reverse. put 400 heads onto a 350, are there any modifications that need to be done, or will they even fit at all?!?!?!?

Yes drill the heads, and if they are 2.02 int. valve's you need to check the clearance of the piston to valve along with cam lift. The relief pockets may not be large enough. Look in the Knowledge base and some sites tell you how to drill the holes/sizes and the angle. Its not hard if you can use the correct tools.
I use a Fel-pro #1014 Performance Marine head gasket with the steam holes in them. A regular gasket is # 1010.
Use new head bolts, or better yet studs.
