OH I just realized you must live in the San Diego area not South Dakota (SD).
I grew up there, my childhood years in Baja La Jolla and my teen years in Escondido when it was a little farm town when Sunkist was the biggest business in town followed by Calvo. Most, if not all, of that is now long gone. Funny small world one of my business partners, whom I met in Seattle, grew up in Guatay at the same time I lived in the SD area.
Say "Hi" to Carsavycook for me. We haven't met but do converse in the virtual world.
I can't wait to get my hands back on it, once he get's the valves adjusted correctly. It is a flat tappet hydraulic lifter cam, and lifter from what I can tell.
It is very impressive sounding for a pump gas engine. It almost runs as good as it looks. (lucky me, eat your hearts out) It will perform better after the next time I get my hands on it.
bogie; It just needed a little increase in timing, and a little carb adjusting. Now it will idle in gear, and sounds like it will perform.
I have it taken care of from this "spot" where we live in this wonderful Country we call home.
