SBC block # 10243880 info?

Sorry guys, this is a partial carry over from a thread I may have beat to death.....I looked up this number at Mor-tec.com It said the block was a; Vortec truck, Gen I crate or a ZZ4 with a roller cam and one piece seal.
Question one: Are all these blocks/engines the same thing or do they have different specs and use one main casting? It does not have vortec heads, so I would presume it is one of the other two? Question 2: Is there a way to find out more without tearing down the engine? Ie: other stamped numbers or casting marks? Question 3: (and I know I ask alot of questions....) If they are roller lifters, do they look different from the top? (I peered down the oil return hole in the head....dont look special to me...)

there the same blocks with different heads and etc. if you can see into the lifter valley, if it`s a roller cam, it`ll have a spider and anti rotation lifter plates. I`m certain the ZZ4 and the Stock vortec engine both had roller cams, so I`d think the crate engine did as well.

Hmmm....they look like regular lifters to me. (from what I can see through the oil return hole) I'm starting to think this may be a replacement or crate engine. The rocker valley(?) is very clean, no sludge at all. At 180,000 miles, I'd think there would be a lot of junk in there....no?
