E 22 72
E = May 22 = 22nd 72 = 1972 No, other sites have casting numbers as well such as nasty Z28, just use your search engine and type in small block chevy casting numbers, you`ll find a lot. Another place to verify it`s a 72 is on the blocks pad in front of the passengers side cylinder head, this is where the suffix code is located, a example is it`ll end in 3 letters such as TJU. Nasty Z28 and other sites as well give the meaning of the suffix code, it also tells you how to break down the rest of the letters and numbers. |

Thanks Much DoubleVision for that info
![]() I been wondering for quite a while about my block info, and now I know more about it. I just got back in (eatin a tri-tip sammich) got my oil change finished just a minute ago. I went to kragen and got some castrol Gtx 10 30 and a ph 30 ( I accidently grabbed a ph47 1st time, had to make a return trip) I was hoping on getting a different filter but all kragen had was fram's. Now heres summin for ya guys to laugh at. I got the back side of my wrist good with the header takin the filter off, yanked my arm down. Wham!!!! elbow in the cement I'm okay though nice red mark and a slightly sore elbow. My dad was watchin me and laffed his butt off as I flailed around half way under the car while cursing at this dang thing for biting me.Have a good one and take care, Abe Last edited by 1Fast65Elky; 10-14-2004 at 10:41 PM. |
