sbc cylinder head question
im rebuilding a 350 just trying to build a good street motor. Nothing crazy.
I have 2 sets of heads! Both need rebuilt but wondered which pair I should start with? first set. 462624 76cc this head came on the motor but i read somewhere that these were lighter weight castings and where prone to cracking? second set 3795896 these are 60cc heads from 62-64 327's I am just starting this teardown/build. I havent purchased any pistons yet. thanks for any answers/comments in advance. dustin

For the cash you`ll sink into those heads you can get a aftermarket set that is far superior. The 624 castings are junk, light and crack prone. The 896 castings are small valve, small runner heads without accessory holes that will choke the engine to death.

I agree neither set are worth using for a performance motor. Unless you want a "low performance" motor. Buy some real High Performance heads. There are many to choose from.
