SBC Factory roller lifter retro on non roller block

I have heard rumors but come up short on any internet searches (although for some reason i suck on searches). Is there a way to retro fit the factory roller lifters and spider retainer into a non roller block? I have a 383 build in process and the cam is one of the last things i need to get---and i really want to go roller. This isnt a very high rpm build---around 5000 rpm give or take, im just looking for reliability without the insane price of aftermarket retrofit roller lifters.
