SBC in a fox body?

Hi i usually build chevs but I have an 83 mustang roller i was given. Just wondering how complicated the swap too a sbc would be? I know people have done it but I've had a hard time finding info on the swap.

If you are deadset on using an sbc you should pass the stang on to a Ford guy and find a GM car. Since Ford small blocks are now nearly as plentiful and cheap to build as Chevys it leaves me wondering why do it. Plus who will want to buy it if you ever decide to get rid of it.

I have never understood this concept of a Ford in a Ford and so on. After all we are building hot rods not resotoring cars. If you want to put a Chevy in that Ford go ahead and do it. But if you really want something different put in a Mopar 440 or an Olds 455.

SBC in a Mustang! Don't you guys know that's illegal in all 50 states and DC, I think there are a few federal statutes too that carry at least 10 to 20 years at hard labor!

Wow alot of responses too this one. Mixed reactions. Im not dead set on it but I like doing things different and the mustang was given to me by a ford guy who gave up on it. Would a 305 be better? then it would be a true 5.0!

If you have the parts and knowledge go for it. Thats hotrodding! There was a camaro on pinks all out earlier this year with a big block ford. Seems to me he made it too the finals then got beat by a chevy powered mustang though. I might be remembering that backwards?

If I do put the 460 in a camaro it will be a first generation or maybe a 70 to 72 as those from 73 to 81 were horrible looking and the 82 on up untill the last should of been scrapped when they came off the assembly line. Jeff
