Post SBC Head gaskets.....which ones?

Which head gaskets do you guys prefer for high performance engines?

Id like to get a thinner head gasket to increase my compression since the heads Im having redone are 76cc.

Ive seen copper, metal, and the Fel Pro ones.

Suggestions anyone?

with 5 bolts around each cylinder small block chevys are one of the easiest engines to seal, so use a steel shim gasket the factory used them for years in the sixties and seventies. I personally like the new graphite based gaskets but they are a mess to clean up when you pull a head.

Yea, I found the Mr. Gasket ones. $15 for the pair is extremely cheap. Hehe.

Chevrolet has some steel shim type head gaskets that are only .026 thick compressed. About $10 each. Work great but have no holes for the 400SBC .......sorry pcesak
