sbc heads
Does anyone know the flow characteristcs of the vortec head and how they compare to a 441 or 041 casting head, and how the performance differs between the different heads?

i've heard they flow better than edelbrock performer 64cc aluminum heads. i don't know any specifics but supposedly they are one of the best bang for your buck deals.

oh yeah and according to a test that car craft did on the vortec heads they out flow all other gm iron casting heads.

they out flowed the bow tie phase 2 cast iron heads. the vortecs have an exhaust/intake flow ratio of 61.5% compared to the 54.7% of the phase 2. they rated the vortecs max power potential at 492hp@0.500lift. that is a good 30hp more than the phase 2. the only thing that the phase 2's had on the vortecs was porting potential for full out racing.
