Oil plug
One thing your first engine builder may have overlooked is there is a 1/2 inch pressed in oil galley plug up underneath #5 main saddle which sometimes is removed before hot tanking. If it's not replaced at assembly time you'll briefly have oil pressure cold and usually no oil pressure hot.Speaking of lifters, i've used approximately 40 sets of Delphi lifters now, and never had an issue. Delphi makes them for Chevy, they're a 2 piece lifter with a hardened bottom.
