SBC mount bolt sizes
I got my v8 cross memeber in today for my '49 Chevy truck. Iam going to mock it up and get my dummy block were I need it in the frame rails this weekend. Any one know off the top of thier heads what size bolts are use to mount the engine mounts to the block on a Chebbie small block. Thanks!

That would be 3/8's inch course thread, six of'em.

I just checked the depth of the threads in the block....about 5/8". Add to that the thickness of the plate that you're mounting to the block and you'll know the length of the capscrews you'll need. Don't be so long with those that they bottom in the block before the lockwashers compress fully but don't have less than 3/8" of thread engaged.
