SBC Nascar Motor

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has the specifications or knows the parts that go into a sbc nascar motor, or anything about a sbc nascar motor. Or also a website that would tell me about all the specifications and the parts in a sbc nascar motor. I am just intrested what all goes into those motors.

Thanks

Best bet is to get a copy of the Nascar rules for their engines. I'm sure it would give the basic specs. To get into how they make that horsepower with those rules, you would have to contact some of the teams such as Childress or DEI.

Somehow, I don't think that they are going to want to share too many of their secrets......................

Saw a TV special on the CMT channel. Aaron Tippin made in America series. They were at a NASCAR race teams shop. They showed assembly of a NASCAR SBC engine. Then they put it on the dyno and let Aaron run it. I was astounded when they brought it up 10 grand and held it there for quite some time. I would like to know what they do to those engines to turn that kind of rpm and live.

NASCAR

I vaguely remember a show I saw one time which did a segment on a shop where you could get short block nascar engines. You could buy the short block, or parts individually. It was like an indoor junk yard for race engines only. It was really cool. Obviously all of these parts had been used, but I guess if someone wanted a used (probably only one race) crank or rods, or everything, that is where you could get one. The photos they showed had shelves and shelves of engine blocks. I am not sure what class these engines were from or anything but it definitely got my attention. Unfortunately, that was some time ago, and I don't even remember the website they gave. I bet if you found it on the internet though you could probably see the specs on some of theses old parts. Just my 2!
