Question Which SBC oil pan, early vs. late?

I'm trying to identify my oil pan. I need to know whether its the early version or the later version.

I am using a two piece real main seal adapter in a one pice block. The problem is that the adapters came in different versions allowing the use of both early and later pans? The adapter has no numbers on it nor does the pan. I want to buy a replacement pan but don't knoe which one I currently have.

Anyone have a sure fire way of telling between the two ?

Thanks in advance.

Well if it has the notch for the dipstick on the drivers side then its the old pan,but you might have the 1980 or newer pan so that might not help.

2 piece rear main oil pan
The one piece seal motors are more squareish on the front of the pan than the 2-piece pans.
That may or may not help.
