I bought a fresh motor that has a deep 7qt pan on it. This will create a ground clearance problem when installed in my t-bucket. I want to go to a standard depth pan but have a couple questions. Can the pickup be shortened or can just the pickup be replaced? Not sure if I should just buy a whole new pump with pickup. Also this motor has a blower on it. does this require a high volumn pump?
You don't need a high volume oil pump, IMHO just go get a stock type pickup tube that will work with the stock pan you are putting on it. Don't mess with trying to make the one you have shorter you will be better off just replacing it with the correct one. JMO
