What type of heads, got guide plates, posi locks? and what are the cam specs, hyd or solid lifter, amount of lift? did the noise start right out of the gate when the rockers were installed or did it come on gradually after a while?

More then likely the rocker geometry is off and it wouldn't hurt to have the guide plates also JMO. The rockers are probably all over the place on the valve tip IMHO.
