sbc rod and main out of round
Well I got a dial bore gauge for Christmas and I have been looking for excuses to use it. It measures to. 0001" and currently I don't have a caliper to set it to adctually measure things so right now all I can do is out of round. What are the out of round specs for main caps and rod big ends? For SBC. Thx

,001 max. mains and .0005 rods.. Spec for mains is.. 2.6406/2.6416 rods 2.2247/2.2252

If your bore gauge has ridgid fingers there not the best gauge for measuring housing bores with bearings installed, Bearings with eccentricty a ridgid finger bore will not give you an accurate measurement.

That being said a Sunnen bore gauge has floating fingers and it much more accurate.
