when guys are making these. the runners, where they butt up next to each other at the ports. how do they weld these ? i see them welded on the outside all the way around. but there is no way to get a tig torch in between runners that are right next to each other. how do they do it ?

I think I know what you're looking for, if I was fabricating a sheet intake, I'd shape the runner ends to fit inside the flange opening, and weld them at the flange from the bottom, does that make sense? Just make the flange opening large enough so that when the runner tube is fitted inside it's large enough to port match after welding.

yeah, i thought of that, and variations of it. but i have seen pics where they didn't do it like that. maybe they just weld that section from the inside. or they weld the runners together, then weld the pair to the flange.
