Sbc vacuum leak

Hi everyone I have a 388 stroker with a 770 street avenger carb, the motor runs and idles good but I'm hearing a loud whistle noise, sounds just like a vacuum leak but I checked the hoses, the pcv , intake, and the carb, I have billet pulleys and brake booster is new, also checked the vacuum line that goes to to the 350 transmission , any help would be great thanks.

Buy a 3ft piece of vinyl hose at Lowes(3/8"OD, 1/4"ID) or there abouts. Press one end next to your ear, and move the other around the engine/compartment. You can tell pretty easy when you get next to something making noise as it seems to isolate everything but whats right at the end of the hose. Only costs a couple of bucks.

Good idea SS. To make it even better put a funnel on the end you poke at your ear.
