Yesterday, I was doing my Saturday E-bay shopping and came across an ad that looked interesting. It was for a 32 Ford Cpe. I can't even remember the color, but it had a flame paint job. The ad listing it had a start of about $3200. It showed the location of someplace in Illinois. It was listed with alot of specifics about what it had, and stated that it was priced for quick sale. The catch, as I read it, was that you had to be an "approved bidder". Not that I need another car right now, but it looked like a great deal, so I tried to bid, and received a message that I had to be approved. I sent an e-mail to the seller to get "approved". That was in the morning. I received an e-mail last evening that said that the vehicle is for sale at $10,500. The vehicle is located in Italy, and needs to be shipped. The person said that it is "completely restored, and immaculate". The vehicle supposedly belonged to their grandfather, and has the original motor in it, but the ad stated that it had a SBC and Turbo 350. It requires $3000 be deposited with Western Union, and they will ship the vehicle anywhere, and they will pay 65%.

Now... after I saw the ad, and sent the e-mail to them to get "approved", I went back a few minutes later, and the ad was gone. Could not locate it anywhere. The ID that listed it and sent the e-mail was "Customsforsale". Anyone know anything about this one? Sure seems like a scam to me.

I searched eBay for that seller(Customsforsale) and got nothing............................

Question is, if you were ready to get approved by him, why would he bail out.........................?

NMust have wanted you just to send that deposit..............SCAM.

Poncho.... That is exactly what I thought. The message that I sent was simply how do I get approved. If it was legit, I would have thought that they would have responded, and left it on E-bay to sell, or atleast see what it brought.

It is really a shame. If it was legit as advertised, I probably would have bought it, or atleast tried hard. That could have given some good conversation material at my house, like why in the world I spent that much money on another car, that I don't even have room for.
