Scotts Hot Rods, Work - Good or Bad?
Hi,
My first post. Has anyone heard about Scotts' Hot Rods in Ventura, CA? http://www.scottshotrods.com/ I am thinking of sending my car there to complete the body and was wondering if anyone has heard good or bad things about their work or products. I am not the richest person and would love to get the car right the first time. Thank for the help, Ken |

As a car show judge I have seen lots of his work and products,
it all looks very good to me. I meet him at the SEMA show and at Fresno Ca. show, seems like a knowledgeable and nice person. Troy, |

Thanks for the info guys!
I love the internet; where else can you get the suggestions and opinions of thousands of people! I can do metal work and body work, but it is passable at best. This car is "the car". The car I have always wanted and I want it perfect and last 10 - 20 years with good care. In order to do that with the metal and body work, I prefer an "artist" or "pro". However, just like anything else in the world, it is very hard to find someone or a shop you can trust to do the job you want. Scott's is only 30 minutes from my house so it is convenient. Has anyone else had business with Scotts (mail order or custom work)? Any information will be appreciated. Ken |

There is a slight controversy regarding feedback for this company. More info in our company reviews: Scott's Hot Rods and Customs.

I spoke with the owner of Scotts Hot Rods and I told him that I was concerned with negative comments about his company.
He said there has been no negative feedback since 2004, and assured me that he does quality work and stands behind his products. He also mentioned that he built the Riddler 2007 runner up 32 Ford. I was hoping for feedback from anyone that bought and installed one of his IFS units within the past 3 years. Thanks............. |

A lot of their work looks good. But their suspension kits suck for the price they put on them. They have a bunch of fancy parts, but are lacking in design. Severely.

Can you be specific with the problem(s) you had?
Thanks............ |

i just purchased an ifs for my 34 dodge truck from scotts hot rod and was very disappointed in there work. I had to ship the crossmember back twice to have it reworked and still had to cut and weld to make it fit. I dont mean just a minor trim. I would never recommend anyone to them. also the owner justin was a complete *** to deal with
