sealed up

the previouse owner of this 79 dodge powerwagon 4x4 did a really good job of making this truck mudd worthy but he sealed up the oil dip stick tube hole and the oil sending unit hole at the block. why? could some one please explain this to me and should I leave it plugged, I dont mind but i have no way to check the oil or the pressure. thanks focker383

The reason it was sealed was so no mud got into it. If you want to put everything back to normal, just unplug the holes, put a dipstick in it and take out the plug and put in the sending unit.......not a problem.
