sealer or epoxy first which one
I have replaced my roof and where the roof meets the drip rail are done and I would like to seal it and put some epoxy on it but which one do i use first. I would like to use some filler to repair the areas that need some minor filling but don't know what process to use first. Any help on this problem would be great thanks.
Most guys recommend putting your epoxy down first and then do your filler work on top of the epoxy while its in its re-coat window, that way you don't need to sand the epoxy before applying filler.
Yep.... 100% correct for resto's.
Epoxy on bare metal and then sealers/fillers.
Epoxy primer will have 15X's the adheasion than bare metal to fillers and sealers. The protection is nice too :)
Don't use a sealer when you go to paint. Get your primer all sanded down to 600G and use basecoat directly on the fresh sanded primer. You'll retain more gloss with less die-back.
Hope that helps,
Here is a good LONG thread
Take a look at this thread - it's long, but epoxy goes down first then filler/2K/Paint.
