If you use something like a FelPro pinto seal gasket, no, you don't need sealer around the ports.
|

You can use sealer to hold the gaskets on before you drop the intake on. I did that with some silicone and it worked just fine.
|
|
||||
|
That is true, what works even better and faster is weatherstrip adhesive.
