Which seat for a 41 chevy truck?

I want to replace the original (since i don't have one) with a bench stlye seat really don't want bucket seats. Anyone have any suggestions as to what will fit somewhat in a 41 chevy 1/2 ton truck. I would prefer something i could put back on top of the original bench seat stand (that way i don't have so cut all that out. I know this probably want leave to many options but any would be appreciate. Thanks

Check out the second row bench of almost any minivan. They are the correct width and I believe that any seat that you find will have to have an altered mount. The mini seat is what I have in my '46.

But make sure you don't get too high of a back. If you keep a good angle on the seat back it will push the bottom forward putting the steering wheel in your chest. This happened in my '69 and I had to put a Cadillac telescope column in it, I am large frame,it's fine now.

seat

I found the front bench seat for a mid 90's ranger is a good fit. i have a 49 stude and it is real narrow inside. Give the ranger a good measure. You will have to create custom mounts, but it is real easy, especially if you have a welder

Thanks quigman, i have been looking at the minivan seats and haven't found one that really wanted to go with yet so i was leaning to toward building my own. I give the ranger a look.

Dodge dakota from the "Square Period" also fit good, slightly wider than a ranger. Tons of them around too. The also had a good set of buckets with a large center armrest for a center seat to fit 3.

Seats in a '41 Chevy Truck

Definitely check out 2nd row seats from late model Chrysler Town & Country
they are fairly narrow , and can often be found wrapped in leather .
Also have heard certain rear seats from Chev Astro vans & GMC equivalent
(also many wrapped in leather) would be good fits ....take your tape measure!
As far as bracketry , many can be adapted to fit without a lot of hassle .
Hope that helps ! Rick
