Seat belt mountings nuts

I am installing retractable seat belts/shoulder harnesses in a 64 1/2 Mustang that never had them from the factory and I need some decent mounting holes in the floor at the rocker, actually the inside of the rocker. I can not get to the inside to use nuts because this goes into the rocker from the inside of the car so what I need is some kind of nut (1/2" fine thread) that I can insert into the hole and have it expand and anchor tightly. The ones I am familiar with that would work I can't find and in fact have not seen any in years. Everything else I am finding looks as if it may not anchor tight enough even though the metal in that area should be strong enough to do the job. Any suggestions?

Those kind of nutplates are hard to find..What I would do is to cut some of the nutplates out of another car and weld them in so I have nutplates in the correct spot..

Hope this helps

Sam
