What measurements would I need to replace a stock bench seat with a newer bucket or bench

The new seat or seats need to fit in the space between the doors of your car, so you need to know the measurement from door panel to door panel. Older cars were not as wide as newer cars, so the older your car is the more careful you need to be selecting the new seats. The height and depth of the new seats are also a consideration, but that shouldn't present too much of a problem.

sorry, its a 4dr 72 satellite with front bench. i would like to replace both front and back but im unsure i would be able to do anything with the back since it is size sensitive
